Street Music Mob

  • Street Music Mob (SMM) is an unintended consequence of Delhi government banning music in public places. While most of the members of Manzil Mystics grew up practicing in public spaces like India Gate or Lodhi Garden, this law told us that our music wasn’t an important form of cultural expression, but was merely irritating noise that disrupted the lives of other Delhiites. We know that music is an instrument of change and in order to spread that message Street Music Mob was born. SMM grew to spread social awareness by conveying messages through music in public spaces, with proper permits issued by government authorities). This concept was already popular in the development sector. Through SSM, we have helped to undertake an international campaign against women’s violence (One Billion Rising), and have also collaborated with Greenpeace India for the last 3 years
  • Manzil Mystics has done over 150 street music mobs so far and have covered topics like Save Water, Solar Energy, Women Empowerment, Failure of Education system in India, Corruption, Acid Attacks, Elderly Pension, Cancer Awareness, Fundamental Rights and Duties, and more
